Prevalence of Metabolic Syndrome and Related Factors Based on Smoking Status and Physical Activity in Korean Adult Men

Background: Cigarette smoking and physical inactivity are critical risk factors for the prevalence of metabolic syndrome (MetS). This study aimed to investigate MetS its related in adult men based on their activity (PA) levels status.Methods: In this cross-sectional analysis, 5,984 aged 19-64 years were included 7th Korean national health nutrition examination survey (2016-2018). was diagnosed National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel III criteria, PA categorized as light (LPA), moderate, vigorous (VPA). We used linear logistic regression models analyze association between PA, MetS, status.Results: The 27.8%, with increasing LPA. significantly reduced by 64.7% VPA quitter groups compared that LPA (odds ratio, 0.353; 95% confidence interval, 0.232-0.539; P=0.001).Conclusions: Our findings suggest may be an effective means reducing men, while increase MetS.
